Sheer khurma Recipe
Sheer Khurma is a traditional dessert, especially during the festive season of Eid. The dish is made with dry fruits, vermicelli, milk, sugar, and ghee and is flavored with cardamom, saffron, and rose water. Sheer Khurma is not only delicious but also has cultural and religious significance.
Ingredients
- 5 cups milk
- 2 tbsp desi ghee
- ¼ cup vermicelli / sevaiya
- 2 tbsp Nickmics cashew nuts
- 2 tbsp Nickmics Almonds
- 2 tbsp Nickmics Pistachios
- 2 tbsp Nickmics Raisins
- ¼ Nickmics Dates (Chopped)
- 2 tbsp chironji
- ¼ sugar
- ¼ tsp Nickmics green cardamon (powdered)
- 1 tsp kewra water
Recipe
- Blanch all dry fruits except dates. Chop & keep aside.
- Roast vermicelli / sevaiya in 1 tbsp ghee. Roast till light golden brown & keep aside.
- In 1 tbsp ghee roast all the dry fruits & dates. Keep aside.
- In a kadhai boil 5 cups of milk. Keep stirring to avoid burning.
- Add all the roasted nuts & mix well.
- Keep the flame low & simmer the milk till it thickens.
- Once the milk is thickened add vermicelli / sevaiya, sugar & mix well.
- Cook till sugar melts & well mixed & cooked.
- Add kewra water or rose water. Garnish with dry fruits.
- Enjoy Sheer Khurma hot & cold.
